OVERVIEW

This immersive Golden Triangle journey through Northern India’s cultural landmarks, royal heritage, and incredible wildlife encounters. Begin your adventure in Delhi, where a Tropic Trails representative greets you on arrival. After settling into your hotel, you’ll explore the city’s iconic sights. In Old Delhi, marvel at the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site embodying Mughal architectural splendor. Discover the grandeur of Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, and wander through the vibrant alleys of Chandni Chowk, rich with local markets and diverse flavors. In New Delhi, visit the India Gate, a tribute to Indian soldiers, Humayun’s Tomb, a Mughal Garden tomb and UNESCO site, and the Qutub Minar, a towering historical marvel.

The next day, travel to Jaipur, the enchanting “Pink City” famed for its beautiful, rose-coloured architecture and layout planned by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Begin with Amber Fort, a magnificent fort with intricate design and panoramic views. Explore the City Palace, blending Mughal and Rajput styles, the astronomical instruments of Jantar Mantar, and the Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds, where the royal ladies once observed city life from behind latticed windows.

From Jaipur, continue your journey to Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most famous wildlife reserves, celebrated for its tiger population and scenic landscapes. Over two days, enjoy morning and afternoon safaris led by expert naturalists. The park is a sanctuary for Bengal Tigers, Leopards, Sloth Bears, Wild Pigs, and a variety of deer species, all roaming against the backdrop of ancient ruins, making the experience a perfect blend of nature and history.

Following the exhilarating safaris, head to Bharatpur and explore the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and renowned bird sanctuary. This wetland park is especially vibrant during the winter season when migratory species from around the world join resident birds. Look out for Sarus Cranes, Painted Storks, Eurasian Spoonbills, and Tufted Ducks in this haven of biodiversity.

Conclude the tour with a trip to Chambal, where a serene boating safari reveals the unique wildlife along the Chambal River. Look out for the rare Ganges River Dolphin, Marsh Crocodile, Gharial, and Indian Skimmer, offering an unforgettable wildlife finale.

On your final day, travel back to Delhi, where you’ll be transferred to the airport, taking with you, memories of India’s majestic wildlife, heritage sites, and vibrant cultures.

Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, a Tropic Trails representative will welcome and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, explore the stunning Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and symbol of Mughal grandeur, Jama Masjid: one of the largest mosques in India, then wander through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk and the traditional markets of Old Delhi, rich in sights, sounds, and flavors. In New Delhi, visit iconic landmarks such as India Gate, a tribute to Indian soldiers, Humayun’s Tomb: a stunning Mughal Garden tomb and UNESCO site, and Qutub Minar: a towering minaret and historic marvel

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Jaipur, famously known as the “Pink City” due to its unique rosy-hued buildings. The city, founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1727, is celebrated for its aesthetic architecture and well-planned streets. Spend the afternoon exploring Jaipur’s most notable landmarks: Amber Fort: Known for its artistic Hindu style, intricate designs, and panoramic views, City Palace: A beautiful complex that exemplifies a mix of Mughal and Rajput architecture, Jantar Mantar: An 18th-century observatory with impressive astronomical instruments and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds): A five-story facade with hundreds of latticed windows, designed for royal ladies to observe street life unnoticed.
Day 3 & 4:
Ranthambore National Park

Depart for Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most famous tiger reserves and known for its rich diversity of wildlife and historical ruins within its boundaries. After checking into your accommodation, head out for an afternoon Tiger Safari. Over the next two days, you will enjoy morning and afternoon safaris in the park, led by expert naturalists. Look out for the majestic Bengal Tiger, along with sightings of Leopards, Wild Pigs, Sloth Bears, and a variety of deer species.
Day 5:
Bharatpur

Following a morning safari in Ranthambore, you’ll depart for Bharatpur, home to the renowned Keoladeo Ghana National Park. After arrival and check-in, take an afternoon tour of the park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its seasonal wetlands and woodlands. It’s a haven for migratory and resident bird species, especially during the winter months. Spot species such as the Sarus Crane, Painted Stork, Tufted Duck, Eurasian Spoonbill, and the Ferruginous Duck in its rich aquatic habitat.
Day 6:
Chambal

Concluding a morning birding session at Bharatpur you will drive to Agra. Here, visit: Fatehpur Sikri: An architectural marvel of red sandstone, this historic city was once the Mughal Empire’s capital. Agra Fort: A UNESCO site, with palatial compounds, mosques, and walls overlooking the Yamuna River. Taj Mahal: Witness the grandeur of this iconic monument to love, renowned for its stunning white marble architecture and exquisite inlay work. From Agra, continue to Chambal for an afternoon River Safari along the Chambal River, home to rare aquatic species. Look out for the Ganges River Dolphin, Gharial (fish-eating crocodile), Marsh Crocodile, and migratory birds, including the Indian Skimmer.
