This cycling adventure through Rajasthan combines cultural landmarks, historic forts, and wildlife encounters with picturesque rides through rural landscapes and vibrant villages. Starting in Jaipur, known for its stunning palaces and architecture, the journey kicks off with sightseeing at iconic sites like the Amber Fort and Jantar Mantar.

From Jaipur, the cycling route weaves through the heart of Rajasthan, visiting towns and villages that offer an authentic glimpse into rural life. Key stops include the sacred city of Pushkar with its famous Brahma Temple, and Khejarla, where you’ll explore a 600-year-old fort. The journey takes you through diverse landscapes, from the rolling Aravalli Hills to the flat mustard fields of Jalore, allowing you to experience Rajasthan’s scenic variety.

Each day brings unique experiences: sunset camel rides, rural village tours, and a chance to sample local delicacies in bustling markets. The itinerary includes stops in Jodhpur, where the imposing Mehrangarh Fort and the desert outpost of Osian await, and Bera, where you’ll embark on a thrilling leopard safari near the Jawai Dam.

Later, you’ll tackle a challenging but rewarding ride to Kumbhalgarh, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Fort with a 36-km-long wall. The journey concludes in Udaipur, the “City of Lakes,” where you’ll tour grand palaces, serene temples, and lush royal gardens.

With daily cycling distances averaging 50-80 km, this itinerary balances active exploration with cultural immersion, making it an ideal way to discover Rajasthan’s heritage and natural beauty.

ITINERARY

Day 1, 2:
Jaipur
Wildlife Safari and Trekking
Upon arriving at Jaipur International Airport, a Tropic Trails guide will welcome you and accompany you to your hotel in Jaipur, famously known as the “Pink City” due to its beautiful rose-colored buildings. Over the next two days, you’ll explore the city’s iconic sights. Begin with a morning visit to the Amber Fort, a stunning complex that beautifully blends Mughal and Hindu architecture. Afterward, head to Jantar Mantar, India’s largest and best-preserved astronomical observatory, built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jantar Mantar showcases India’s remarkable advancements in ancient astronomy. You’ll stay at Narain Niwas Palace or similar.
Day 2:
Kishangarh

After breakfast, depart from the outskirts of Jaipur to kick off your cycling journey. Pedal through flat, open terrain past local villages, fields of corn and mustard, ancient temples, and historical monuments, immersing yourself in rural Rajasthan. This initial ride offers a gentle introduction to the area’s landscape and cultural scenes. Tonight, you’ll rest at the Phool Mahal Palace or a similar accommodation.
Day 4:
Pushkar

Today, cycle through the lively Roopangarh market, charming villages filled with bright colours, and by the historic Khadela Fort. The ride takes you through 50 km of captivating countryside, with each scene giving a glimpse into Rajasthan’s rich heritage. Upon arrival in Pushkar, visit the Brahma Temple on the shores of Pushkar Lake, one of the most sacred sites for Hindus. In the evening, you’ll have the option to explore the local market before settling in at Jagat Palace or a similar hotel.
Day 5:
Khejarla

Embark on a scenic 80 km journey through the Aravalli Mountain Range, where rolling hills and traditional villages form a beautiful backdrop. Once you arrive in Khejarla, enjoy an optional village tour on a camel cart, visiting the ancient 600-year-old Durga Temple as the sun sets over the countryside. For those interested in wildlife, there’s also an option for a Jeep safari to nearby desert and lake areas to spot local fauna. Stay overnight at Fort Khejarla or a similar property.
Day 6 & 7:
Jodhpur

Today’s route takes you on an 80 km ride through rural Rajasthan’s vast fields and countryside before a transfer into the city of Jodhpur, also known as the “Blue City” due to its distinctly blue buildings. In Jodhpur, immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant culture, visiting landmarks such as the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, and indulge in local street food. On Day 7, take a relaxed ride to the edge of the desert at Osian, where you can experience the traditional Thar Desert landscape, with an option to ride a camel before heading back to Jodhpur at sunset. You’ll be accommodated at the Radisson Jodhpur or a similar hotel.
Day 8:
Ahore

After a short transfer from Jodhpur, continue your cycling journey for another 70 km through Rajasthan’s flat terrain, with the route passing fields of vibrant mustard plants and small rural settlements. Arrive at the village of Bhenswara in Jalore, where you’ll experience the rich cultural tapestry of a Rajasthani village. Tonight’s accommodation will be at Ravla Bhenswara or similar.
Day 9 & 10:
Bera

Today’s ride spans 80 km through the rugged Aravalli Mountains, leading you to the Jawai Leopard Conservation in Bera, where you’ll embark on an evening wildlife safari. On Day 10, join a morning safari to spot leopards around the Jawai Dam, an area also known for its birdlife and crocodiles. After breakfast, enjoy a cycling tour of the nearby shepherd village, offering a unique look at local life in rural Rajasthan. Your stay for these nights will be at the Godwad Leopard Safari Camp or similar.
Day 11:
Kumbalgarh

Today’s ride, covering 50 km, is one of the more challenging routes of the trip, traversing rugged hills as you head toward Kumbhalgarh. Along the way, stop at the breathtaking Ranakpur Jain Temple, renowned for its intricate marble architecture. Continue to Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its 36 km long wall, the second-longest continuous wall in the world after the Great Wall of China. Overnight accommodations will be at the Ramada Resort or a similar venue.
Day 12 & 13:
Udaipur

Pedal through dry deciduous forests, serene valleys, and narrow roads in the scenic Aravalli Mountains, covering approximately 60 km before a transfer takes you into Udaipur, known as the “City of Lakes.” On Day 13, explore Udaipur’s top attractions, including the beautiful City Palace on Lake Pichola, the intricately designed Jagdish Temple, and the lush Saheliyon-Ki-Bari Garden. Your stay for these days will be at Udai Kothi or similar.
Day 14 Departure:
Udaipur

Airport Drop
After breakfast, you’ll be dropped at Udaipur Airport for your departure, concluding your immersive cycling journey through Rajasthan.
