This six-day trekking tour is ideal for nature lovers, adventure seekers, wildlife enthusiasts, and photographers looking to explore Kerala’s untouched landscapes.

Meesapulimala Trek – Kerala’s High Mountain Adventure

The journey begins with the famous Meesapulimala trek. At 2,647 meters, Meesapulimala is the second-highest peak in Kerala. The trail passes through rolling grasslands, mountain ridges, tea estates, and crystal-clear streams.

Trekkers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the plains of Tamil Nadu. The scenic landscapes around Kolukkumalai tea plantations add to the beauty of the trek. After the hike, relax at the peaceful Suryanelly campsite surrounded by mountains and valleys.

Tribal Villages and Scenic Valley Trails

On the second day, continue trekking toward Suryanelly village through beautiful mountain trails and valleys. The route includes river crossings, grasslands, and forest paths.

A major highlight is the visit to traditional Muthuvan tribal settlements. The Muthuvan community is known for its deep connection with nature and forest life. This cultural interaction offers a unique insight into Kerala’s indigenous traditions and lifestyle.

Pappathichola Butterfly Forest Trek

The adventure continues to Pappathichola, also known as the “Butterfly Forest.” This biodiverse region is famous for seasonal butterfly migrations and lush rainforest landscapes.

Trekkers may spot species such as Blue Bottles, Common Maps, and Red Discs along the trail. The trek also passes through spice plantations and dense forests. Wild elephant sightings are common in this region, making the experience even more exciting for wildlife lovers.

Mathikettan Shola National Park Trek

One of the most thrilling parts of the journey is the trek through Mathikettan Shola National Park. This protected forest area is Kerala’s youngest national park and an important biodiversity hotspot in the Western Ghats.

The rugged trails lead through dense shola forests rich in wildlife and endemic species. Rare animals such as the Nilgiri Marten and Grey Slender Loris can sometimes be spotted here. The park is also home to the unique Galaxy Frog, found only in this region.
